WHAT A YEAR! 2021 Art by Shan Year in Review

Hello Realist Vehicle Art Lovers!

Good-Bye 2021. Hello to 2022!

I hope this newsletter finds you and yours well. Apologies for writing only one newsletter this year, instead of four. I've been juggling new works for my solo, exhibitions, commissions, a business trip and artist talk, and family trip to scatter the ashes of 3 passed family members. As for everyone, this year has been quite a challenge. On a high note, several wonderful things happened to me in 2021, and believe I am moving in the right direction with my art. This year has brought me new galleries and multiple new collectors. I am eternally grateful! Here are some highlights from the year of 2021 for Art by Shan.

I flew to the event to not only be part of that exhibition, but to be on a panel of 4 women automotive artists for an artist talk. It was a delight to meet fellow female artists Sue Steele Thomas, Bobbie Crews, and Lory Lockwood. Coming Soon and What is on my Easels?:

* Eight of my paintings (7 shown to the right) will be included in the Los Angeles Art Show with Abend Gallery from January 19-23, 2022. You can see better images of them all on my website. Pre-Sales are available with Abend Gallery. * I am looking forward to working on two very large paintings in January after I take two weeks off for the holidays and to work on cleaning my messy home studio. I also have a classic Corvette, Lincoln, 2 trucks, and a series of hood ornaments planned. Due to Covid restrictions, I was only able to attend 4 car shows in 2021. I miss seeing my car friends, amazing vehicles, and photographing references to bring to canvas. I'm hoping that 2022 will allow me and my husband to start attending events again, and maybe plan a trip to Germany (Mercedes, BMW, Audi, VW, Porsche, Nurburgring, Autobahn, etc.)
