Hello Art Lovers!
Summer is definitely here! This week in Austin, we had the hottest week on record. Folks in my community are up early to walk their pets, exercise, or running errands before the 100F + degree temps descend. This summer is shaping up to be a scorcher! With the temperatures up, I've been a bit of a creative hermit in my studio. Car shows are back in full swing, and I look forward to attending many more in the coming months.
What have I been up to?
YouTube: Recently, I had a wonderful YouTube interview with Mike Kinney from Cars, Stars, and Roll Bars . We talked about my painting techniques, the challenges of bringing vehicles to life on canvas, and where I find inspiration. In August, I'll be on a podcast that focuses on women and their careers. It should be a lot of fun.
In the studio: I'm juggling 6 large pieces on my easels (pic at bottom) and a super
secret piece for a museum. This week I am debuting 5 paintings for the grand opening of Abend Gallery at Cherry Creek including "Vespa Rosa" (above and below).
On Display: I'm thrilled that several of my paintings are currently around the country for national/international gallery exhibitions. One exhibition is the 16th Annual International Guild of Realism at McBride Gallery in Annapolis, MD. My 1990 Ferrari Testarossa and 1925 Hispano Suiza (shown above) are part of this prestigious show. Three of my paintings were also judged into the New Western Talent exhibition through Western Gallery. I am honored to have my pieces included in these amazing exhibitions.
