June 2020 Newsletter

Hello Art Lovers!

I hope this newsletter finds you and yours safe and well. I intended to send this out in April, but waited due to all that has happened in our world. I have felt mentally/emotionally exhausted with news, and worried out of my mind for family and friends. Art and gardening have saved me more than I can say during these trying times. Thankfully, being a creative hermit has allowed me to support family and friends that have been struggling with isolation. I did a video on YouTube about it that you might enjoy.

Highlights of 2020 so far:

Galleries: I am incredibly thankful to be represented by: 33 Contemporary Gallery and Zhou B Art Center both in Chicago, Illinois Good Art Company Gallery in Fredricksburg, Texas  NEW EDITION: It has not been announced yet, but my work will soon be represented by Abend Gallery in Denver, Colorado

YouTube Interview: Featured Guest on Art Rendezvous

Publications: American Art Collector - June Realism Issue American Art Collector Magazine-”Still Lifes” Issue, January

Exhibitions:

Due to the pandemic and stay at home order, the 5 woman exhibition I was to be in, High 5 - Celebrating Five Women Artists, was cancelled indefinitely. It was to be held at the Old Bakery and Emporium gallery, next door to the Texas State Capitol. Although I was so sad that our show was canceled, I've become close friends with the other 4 artists. If you have a moment, check out the works of Christy Stallop, Rhea Groepper Pettit, Brenda Armistead, and Stephanie Estrin.

*Abend Gallery Small Works exhibition - May 27 thru June 30, 2020. NOTE: I usually don't paint on a small scale. This is the one exhibition where I create original small pieces perfect for the new collector or for gifting.  *National Oil & Acrylic Painter's Society Spring International Spring Exhibition *People’s Gallery Texas Statewide Exhibition, Austin City Hall, All of 2020

Travel: My husband and I were to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary by traveling to Germany in March 2020. That didn't happen. It looks like we will be going sometime in 2022 now. While there, we plan on visiting BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Volkswagen, and Porsche. We also want to take a drive on the Nürburgring and Autobahn.

Currently and in the Near Future:

* I will be ramping up my YouTube channel and hopefully be posting a video each week. I've ordered equipment such as: lighting, microphone, backdrops, and will be learning all about video editing. The art world is changing and most collectors are looking online for new art. For this reason, I am bringing my art to YouTube. My videos will discuss: my art, the vehicle that inspired my painting, answering a question that I've received, products I use, business help for creatives, and assisting collectors that want to find artists or galleries. I'm really excited about this new venture. Please hit the SUBSCRIBE button in the link to be notified for new videos.

On My Easel:

I am just about to delve into several new, small paintings for the above mentioned galleries. Once I get a handful complete, I have some larger works planned including a motorcycle once owned by Steve McQueen. Available Soon: Within the next two weeks I will have 25 limited edition giclees available of my new painting, 1961 Honda 50. These will be large prints of the highest quality. Each will come signed, dated, and numbered and include a Letter of Authenticity. If interested, please follow my Facebook or Instagram pages for an update.  On A Personal Note:

I know the world is a crazy place right now. Thanks to each of you for following, sharing, and collecting my work. I have been blessed with many new collectors this year for original paintings and limited edition giclees. It is truly a joy to create works that connect with so many.
