How are you? I hope this newsletter finds you and yours safe and well. I am well and have been very busy. Although all in person events have been canceled this year, I have been a painting machine and working 6-7 days a week.
BIG News! I'm thrilled to share that I will be having my 3rd solo exhibition in 2021. I'm in the process of creating at least 6 new, never seen paintings for my March 2021 solo exhibition with Abend Gallery, in Denver, Colorado. Be on the look out for an invitation and debut images.
I have been accepted into the international Mondial Art Academia based in France. It is a great honor to be invited into this prestigious organization. A big THANK YOU to the judges and curators. I was notified that I have been nominated as a potential candidate for Texas State Artist –State Artist 2-D. This designation is the highest designation that the Texas Legislature gives in the arts. How cool is THAT?! The Highlands Motoring Foundation in Highlands, North Carolina have invited me to participate in their CELEBRATE ART + AUTOMOBILE Concours and art exhibition. They are partnering with the Bascom’s Bunzl Gallery for the FreeWheeling – the Allure of the Automobile in Contemporary Art exhibition (5/11/21-8/21/21). I will be exhibiting 3 works, including 2 that will be made specifically for the event. Publications: I'm super excited to share that Motortrend Korea interviewed me for an upcoming issue. I believe it will be out in the next month or two. I'll post about the article when I get a copy from the publisher.
Current Exhibitions: *People’s Gallery - Texas Statewide Exhibition, Austin City Hall, All of 2020 *The beautiful Cutter & Cutter Fine Art Gallery and National Oil & Acrylic Painter's Society are hosting the annual Best of America exhibition. My 1961 Honda 50 motorcycle painting has been juried into the show. This is my 3rd year in a row to included into this fabulous exhibition. * The historic Principle Gallery Charleston and International Guild of Realism are hosting the 15th annual international exhibition. My 1959 Cadillac Coupe deVille is part of this event, and I am humbled to have my work alongside the best contemporary realist artists in the world.
Upcoming Exhibitions: Abend Gallery - Winter Miniature Exhibition I have created TEN new pieces for this exhibition. If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind gift for the holidays or to become a collector of mine, check out the works here. My new pieces will be on display soon. The show doesn't officially open for a few weeks, but you can purchase early. Old Bakery and Emporium - High 5, Celebrating Five Women Artists: December 2020 (Due to the pandemic, this will be a virtual exhibition). I will be showing my work digitally with 4 incredibly talented Texas female artists. Christy Stallop, Stephanie Estrin, Brenda Armistead, and Rhea Pettit. EAST Austin Studio Tour 2020- Big Medium’s EAST is a free, annual, self‑guided art event spanning two weekends from November 14 – 22, 2020. EAST provides opportunities for the public to meet the artists of Austin in their creative spaces. Due to the pandemic, this year's event will be virtual. I will be recording a home studio tour this week, and posting the video on my YouTube channel at the end of the weekend (if you want to see it early). This is a great way to see where I create, learn a bit about a few of my paintings, and more. Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel for this video.
