Red Ford Model A

We saw this vintage beauty during an annual car and air show in Austin, Tx. I have a love for the red/black color combination so I snapped some photos to use as a reference later. When a call for realist small works came my way, I knew I had the perfect painting for it. This piece is much smaller than I usually paint, but there is quite a bit of visual activity in that bumper (people, vehicle, building). This was a really fun piece to create, and has encouraged me to start a new series of small, 12″x12″ paintings very soon for new collectors and as gifts. Watch for them in the next 2 months.
