1971 Mercedes AMG 300 aka "Red Pig"

This Mercedes AMG 300 is a very famous race car as it finished 2nd place in the 24 Hours of Spa in 1971 (something that no one thought it could do). It is really a story of not listening to the doubters, and just going with your gut. I love those underdog stories, don’t you? Many racing enthusiasts love this car and what she represents. She was a challenge to paint, but I’m really happy with how she turned out.

I am honored that this painting is a finalist in the Art Renewal Center 2020 Exhibition. There are almost 5,000 entries from over 80 countries around the world. It is a thrill to have my work included among the best in the world.

This painting was a finalist in the Kessler Collection Next Original Competition, and was displayed in Times Square on 1/1/23. Thank you so much, Kessler Family!

A big THANKS to Jae for his wonderful reference photo. Check out his Instagram.
