1954 Ferrari 750 Monza

Shan-and-Red-MG-MGA.jpg

I admit it, I'm a sucker for Ferraris. On our trip to Italy in 2018, we visited the Ferrari Maranello Museum. In one of the rooms was this gorgeous Monza. As I walked around her, I was instantly drawn to the back quarter of the car. The angle encouraged you to open the door and sit in the drivers seat. She was ready to take on the racing field.

This piece was a challenge for me due to the instrumentation. Dials are a new thing for me to paint. I greatly enjoyed painting this Ferrari and look forward to bringing more race cars to life on canvas.

This painting was included in the Freewheeling - The Allure of the Automobile in Contemporary Art through the Highlands Motoring Club and Bascom Art Center Gallery.
